Recently during a movie-centric twitter conversation with one of our favourite bloggers, Beth of Beth Loves Bollywood, the subject of unintentionally funny subtitles that one often finds in Bollywood movies was brought up.

One thing led to another, and we came up with a challenge: send each other a bunch of screenshots from Bollywood movies and come up with silly, funny subtitles for them (and to add insult to injury, do the subtitles in everybody’s favourite bad font, Comics Sans MS).

And that’s how Subtitters was born!

I’m having a lot of fun with this, and may even turn it into a semi-regular feature on the site. Hope you like it! You can find Beth’s version of this post (with the screens I sent her) by clicking here.

This right here is what photoshop is for (or gimp, even). Vah vah! #s 6 and 7 are my favorite. That room that Shashi is lying in shows up in at least two other films. I think it might be responsible for several comas.

PS I am also hoping there will be call for you to use your “Yaarana” and “Ajooba” tags again soon.

Have your say!
